Method sections (Name,
Type and
Bells/Stage) when using the
appropriate wizard (i.e. replace ‘Grandsire’ with ‘GRANDSIRE’).
-
Extra security has been added to make v3 more Vista friendly.

-
It
was not possible to enter or change the Conductor when editing a
Performance in
specific,
and very unusual, circumstances.

Back buttons to
be greyed out.
-
A
related problem prevented a Performance
from being Edited and
Updated successfully.

the Publication.
-
The

modified to display only the Peal
ID/Code when Campanophile
has been selected as the Publication.
WinRK v3.2.8 (5 March 2008)
-
Under some circumstances selecting
Date
first rung when entering a new tower would cause a fatal error.
-
A
problem occurred when Ringers
with more than one New Names (AKAs)
were present
when creating a new database from a
Search (i.e.
Import from search).
-
The
Date was not responding to
the up and down arrows on page two of the
Performances wizard until it had
been specifically selected.
-
Joint Conductors
were not being marked when printing the Performances Report.
-
The whole activation code may now be pasted into the
Registration form.
WinRK v3.2.7 (7 January 2008)
-
It was not
possible to search Performances
that had an Unknown Conductor so
we’ve added some code that recognises the key word
Unknown and returns all
Performances that do not have a
single Conductor. This also
includes Jointly Conducted and
Silent and Unconducted
Performances.
-
A problem
occurred when Ringers with
New Names (AKAs)
that only consisted of a change of Title
were present when
creating a new database from a Search
(i.e. Import from search).
-
Due to a lack of
interest the possibility to order Custom
Reports has been removed.
-
Tower Circling,
Ringer Circling and
Year Circling have all been
improved. Now you can choose whether or not to include
Ringer
and Tower Previous Names
(AKAs).
-
The number of
Changes has been added to the
Tower Index Report.
WinRK v3.2.6 (26 November 2007)
-
After several
requests we’ve removed the ‘Unknown’ entry from the
Time Taken field and restored the
original blank space denoting unknown or un-recorded times.
-
When printing a Performances
(Single Line) Report the Conductors field was not always being written.
-
Bell Numbers were
not always being written correctly in the viewing and printing of
Handbell performances.
-
Even more
application data has been added to the debug file.
-
WinRK v3.2.5 (22 October 2007)
-
An erroneous
error message was being displayed when a Jointly Conducted performance was modified.
-
Conductors’ titles
were still being displayed in the Performances spreadsheet whether selected or not.
-
Lines in the
Performance View could be oddly spaced
if any displayed fields terminated with one or more carriage
return/line feeds (Returns or Enters).
-
WinRK v3.2.4 (22 September 2007)
-
The
user name was not being stored.
-
The
'Display and print ringers' titles' selection in the
User Defaults dialog was being ignored.
-
There was an error in the search routines when using a continuation
('And' or 'Or').
-
The
support files cslSupport.dll and cslErrorHandler have been modified
(again!) to add yet more error handling.
-
Con2v3 v1.2.2
(22 September 2007)
-
The
application has been recompiled to ensure compatibility with the
modified cslSupport DLL.
-
Please note: Versions of
Con2v3 prior to v1.2.2 will not
run if WinRK v3.2.4 (or better) has been installed.
-
WinRK v3.2.3 (1 August 2007)
-
The
Searches were not being sorted
correctly.
-
Searches
by Tower were failing in some
cases. The routines have been rebuilt and should now work correctly.
-
The
Towers displayed in the ‘Select
new tower’ drop-down list in the
Tower AKAs dialog were only being sorted by the
Tower (Dedication). They are now
being sorted by City,
County and then the
Tower.
-
It
was not possible to update a Tower
entry when either the City or
the County was being removed. It
is now!
-
The
user message on the Registration
form has been changed to make it obvious that the activation code
will only be issued to bone fide purchasers.
-
The
support file cslSupport.dll has been modified.
-
Even more error handling has been added!
-
Con2v3 v1.2.1 (28 July 2007)
-
WinRK v3.2.2 (7 June 2007)
-
An
erroneous error message in the Method
drop-down lists has been corrected.
-
Any
associated County AKA's were
being ignored when searching by Tower.
-
The
Multi-methods wizard header was
misspelled.
-
The
Total number of performances in
the Tower Circling dialog was
incorrectly displaying the total number of bells rung.
-
WinRK v3.2.1 (3 May 2007)
-
Very occasionally the
Ring was
described wrongly in the Rings
wizard which prevented the Ring Name
from being changed.
-
Under some circumstances erroneous
Ringer names could be left in the
Conductor
Counts.
-
WinRK v3.2 (4 April 2007)
This is a major upgrade and we strongly
recommend all users install it. If you're running Vista then you must install this version (see Installing on Vista on the
Tips and Tricks page).
-
The
ability to have reports custom-built to your requirements has been
added after sustained lobbying over the past few years!
-
We
left out a ‘)’ in the title of the Search Report (Single line) report.
-
It
was not possible to edit a date without replacing the new name on
the AKAs dialog.
-
When attempting to print the displayed
Counts more than once an error occurred.
-
The
Performance Certificate was not
printing the Ringer and the
Bell details correctly if the
Ringer's Title (Mr, Rev, etc.) had been
included.
-
WinRK v3.1.9 (31 January 2007)
-
A
new command - Reformat the current
database - has been added to the Tools menu that will, when selected, force a reformat of the
current database to match the latest Template.
-
After several requests we've given in and added a
Rebuild Counts menu that enables
you to choose which (or all) counts to rebuild.
-
The
length allowed for a Ring
description has been increased from 50 to 127 characters.
-
In
some cases duplicate Rings were
being created when a database was created from a search. This
release fixes the problem and also modifies any affected database.
-
The
Performances (Single line)
report was not being displayed or printed
correctly.
-
The
Towers
spreadsheet in the counts window was not
being updated correctly and was not always including all towers.
-
Import from a search was not writing Towers
AKAs correctly.
-
The
Merge feature was occasionally
duplicating Performances.
-
The
Default Ring was not displaying
or saving correctly.
-
There was a bug in the
Towers
count that occasionally caused an error. It has been eradicated!
-
Rings
with no Tenor defined caused an
error in the Search routines.
-
It
was not possible to search for a Conductor who had
AKAs.
-
WinRK v3.1.8 (31 December 2006)
-
Ringer and
Conductor names were not including the
Title when used in the
Spreadsheets, Performance View, AKAs and
drop-down lists. This has been rectified and complex filtering may
now be used.
-
It
was not possible to search for Performances
on a Ringer acting as a
Strapper. Selecting
All as the
On bell entry will now include
Strappers. Selecting
Strappers as the
On bell entry will limit the search to those that used a
Strapper.
-
Tower AKAs have been added.
-
It
was impossible to create an unknown Tenor (with no weight). This has now been rectified.
-
The
Rings wizard has been re-written to
improve speed and stability.
-
WinRK v3.1.7 (7 December 2006)
This is a major upgrade and we strongly
recommend all users install it.
-
A
new Year Circling search has been
added that shows how many Performances
a chosen Ringer has rung on each
day of the year.
-
The number of times the year has been circled has been added to the
Year Circling
search.
-
Just to finish the set we’ve added a
Ringer Circling search which shows how many times each ringer
has rung a particular bell in a selected tower. A particular ring
may also be selected.
-
A
new feature has been added to the User
Defaults dialog. You can now choose what
Performance Type will be
selected, by default, when a new Performance is being entered.
-
For
all you ‘tower grabbers’ out there, we’ve added a
Date First Rung to the
Towers wizard and, of course,
incorporated it into the Search
routines.
-
A new dialog,
Towers Rung,
has been added which tells you at which towers a selected ringer
has rung and how many times.
-
There's also a
Rebuild towers date first
rung routine (available in the Tools menu) which determines the first date all towers in the
current database were rung by a selected ringer and writes them to
the Date First Rung in the
database.
-
Due
to the many complaints we've received about the failure of the
30-day trial, the commercial anti-piracy software we were using has
been replaced by a 'home-brewed' version. Unfortunately this means
that when you install v3.1.7 you'll need to apply for a new
activation code. Sorry!
-
A small bug in the 'update database format' routines meant that one
update was being missed.
-
When the
Performance spreadsheets
were sorted by Date the
Same Day Ordering selection was
being ignored.
-
The
Ring name drop-down on the
Performances wizard didn't always
work with Handbell performances.
-
The
trial version would sometimes lock into a loop when an invalid
activation code was entered.
-
Rings
that had been edited or added were not always being written to the
Performances wizard correctly.
-
Very
occasionally the Performances
wizard would not open to the correct size.
-
The
Performances (Single Line) report
was displaying the performance numbers incorrectly.
-
The
Tower Circling dialog didn't
always report selected rings correctly.
-
The
application would crash if the last used database had been removed
and the user selected Yes when
asked if WinRK should close.
-
WinRK would crash if
Print Selected
Records was selected when no performances were in fact
selected.
-
Print All Quarters
was being printed in entry order rather than
Performance Number order.
-
WinRK would sometimes refuse to open as a 30-day trial this was
cured by changing the Working
dialog.
WinRK v3.1.6 (11 July 2006)
-
Rings
in
Handbell
performances were not always correct when imported from a
PBR file.
-
The bug which
prevented the creation of a new Multi-Method has been eliminated.
-
The
Performance number column on the
Performances spreadsheet is now
saved and restored properly.
-
The order of the
Band has been standardised on
page one of the Performances
wizard.
-
The
Unlike qualifier in
Searches didn’t always work
correctly.
-
New or modified
data is now written to the calling wizard when data is changed or
added in a wizard that has been called. For example, if you were
adding ringers in the Performances
wizard and noticed that a name was spelled incorrectly you would
call the Ringers wizard and
correct it. The corrected name will now be written to the
Performances wizard
automatically.
-
Another new
feature has been added to the Tower
Circling dialog; you may now choose to see the number of
times a ringer has rung each bell as a Ringer or as a Conductor.
-
You may now
choose to print Ringers' Titles
in the Performances and
Certificate reports and view them
in PealView.
Con2v3 v1.1.2 (26
June 2006)
-
WinRK v3.1.5 (2 June 2006)
-
The header in the
Debug file was not always being
written.
-
In certain cases
the User Defaults were not being read
or written correctly.
-
The Performance
and Conducted type option buttons were
not always being reset correctly.
-
The Surnames
drop-down in the Ringers wizard was
sometimes causing an erroneous error message.
-
The drop-downs
in the wizards were not always being filled correctly.
-
The Email
log file was not being deleted on startup.
-
It was possible
to enter illegal text in the Method Name,
Type and Bells/Stages.
-
Towers
were not always being loaded correctly when the
Rings wizard was called from the
Performances wizard.
-
The Performances
(Single line) report was not formatted correctly.
-
The Ringers
search was not working correctly.
-
Import from a
Search was not being renumbered.
-
When editing a
New Name (AKA) the date was not available.
-
The ringers of
Handbell performances were numbered incorrectly on page one
of the Performances wizard.
-
The Working
dialog has been cleaned up.
-
The Conductor
of Handbell performances was not always
correct when imported from a PBR file.
-
The
Certificate report has been reworked so
that the type of performance (quarter, handbell, etc.) is shown.
-
The
Database template has been updated.
-
A complex filter
has been added to page one of the Tenors wizard.
-
It's now
possible to print Performances (Single line)
reports from a search.
-
WinRK v3.1 (10 April 2006)
-
If an old
database were used, the Merge
function could return false Tower
details.
-
The
Tower Circling dialog was not
always returning the correct total.
-
The
Towers wizard was refusing to
allow modifications and it was showing all instances
of dedications instead of just one of each.
-
The
Ringers wizard was showing
all Forenames instead of just
one of each.
-
An error
message would be displayed if a report were requested when there
were no records in the selected spreadsheet.
-
The
Selected Edit menu item was
not available when the Search
spreadsheet was open.
-
Filtering of
Towers and
Rings was not working in some
wizards and the Search dialog.
-
The
Towers spreadsheet has been
reworked to remove the Tenor
weights and include the Number of
Bells in the Tower.
Tenor weights are defined as
part of a Ring and should not
be associated with a Tower.
-
If a
dedication included a comma (e.g. 'St Vitus, Dance' or '10,
Downing St') then it was not read correctly in the
Rings wizard and could cause a
fatal error.
-
A new
report, Tower Index, has been
introduced. It will produce a list of all
Performances in the current
database that have been rung in the selected
Tower.
-
The
Publication details may now
be displayed in the Performance View
window.
-
The ability
to search for Performances
before, after, and between selected

has been modified to allow all previous names (AKAs)
to be included.
-
We've also
added the ability to include a Ring
when searching for performances using
Towers.
-
It is now
possible to change Performance Numbers.
The Renumber function will still
start at one but added performances will always be one more than
the current highest in the database.
-
All reports
have been updated.
-
The
Performance View has been
changed with the addition of a Close
button and resize handle.
-
The log file
has been removed. All debug data is now stored in the debug
file.
-
Error
handling and reporting has been improved even more!
-

April 2006)
-
Con2v3 v1.0.6 (8
March 2006)
-
WinRK v3.0.14 (28 February 2006)
-
If the ringer count was changed to
a lower number (using the Rings
and Performances wizards)
the original ringers were left unchanged.
-
Rings
were ignored by the Tower Circling
dialog so the wrong bells may have been counted.
-
Conductor
AKA Counts had been omitted from the
Import from Search function.
-
Error handling and reporting has
been improved. Unfortunately, this has been achieved by
modifying one of the main support files so, if it is required,
the latest version of Con2v3 (v1.0.5) must be installed.
-
A new system constant 'Unknown,
Ringer' has been introduced which should be used when entering
performances with unknown ringers.
-
Con2v3 v1.0.5 (28 February 2006)
-
WinRK v3.0.13 (17 February 2006)
-
We made a
mistake in the installation program that prevented some users
from taking advantage of the 30-day trial.
Sorry!
-
The
Rings wizard has been
re-worked to improve stability.
-
Error
handling and reporting has been improved. Unfortunately,
this has been achieved by modifying one of the main support

(v1.0.4) must be installed.
-

-
WinRK v3.0.12 (10 February 2006)
-
The
Counts
weren't inc/decrementing properly when a new performance was
entered.
-
When
importing a set of search results the AKAs weren't being
copied correctly.
-
Some
messages were added to improve error and performance
reporting.
-
Microsoft's 'day zero' bug meant that any performances on 30
December 1899 would be stored as '00:00:00' instead of
‘30/12/1899’. We think we've fixed all occurrences...
-
A new
item, Rebuild counts, has
been added to the Tools
menu. Selecting this item will cause all counts to be
rebuilt from scratch.
Warning
- this function may take some time to complete!
-
WinRK v3.0.11 (23 January 2006)
-
The
Import
routines saved the ringer names in the wrong format.
-
Publication
information was lost on an import from a search.
-
Ringer AKAs were not imported
from a search.
-
Performances
were not in strict date order when printing
All Performances
or All
Performances (Single line).

Methods
wizard.
-
When a new
Method
was entered into a new
Performance
the method count was not added.

If the
Tower
bell count was changed the tower wouldn't update.

and the Cancel
button was pressed on the
Performances
wizard was incorrect.

Handbell Quarters
were not printing correctly.
-
Counts
reporting has been added.
-
Debug is now turned on by default.
-
A new item,
Select
all, has been added to the
Print menu.
-
The extension for import files has been changed from .CSV to
.PBR. This is because .CSV is used by Excel and import files
edited and re-saved using Excel can become unusable by
WinRK.
-
The
Quarters
report has been changed to landscape orientation to provide
more space for ringer names.
-
WinRK v3.0.10 (17 January 2006)
-
The
Towers
wizard crashed if an edit to a tower, with no recorded bells,
was attempted.
-
The
Import
routines incorrectly stored the number of bells in a tower.
-
Selecting
Help
when no spreadsheet, dialog or wizard was open would cause a
crash.
-
The total number of performances in the selected tower by the
selected ringer has been added to the
Tower Circling
dialog.
-
WinRK v3.0.9 (11 January 2006)
-
We left some
debug code in the Email
procedures - sorry.
-
While
communicating with Val and David Fox it was discovered that an
invalid Activation Code did
not display a message to that effect.
-
Thanks to
Mark Wilson we found that a tower, in which there had been no
performances, was selected in the Tower Circling dialog then it caused a crash.
-
It has come
to our notice that very occasionally a system file necessary for
the email system is not present some computers. This file has
been added to the installation.
-
Extra
debugging has been added to enable you to help us help you...

Performance View icon was incorrect.
-
An erroneous entry 'F12' in the
Print
menu has been removed.
-
When several addresses at once were selected from the email
Address Book they were not
automatically selected. This caused the
Apply button to remain
disabled.
-
The
Update button on the Rings
wizard (page 3) was not enabled if the
Tower or
Tenor were changed (page 2).
-
A new report has been added that will produce a certificate
of the selected performance.
-
Con2v3 v1.0.3 (4 January 2006)
-
WinRK
v3.0.6 (2 January 2006)
-
Pressing
Enter in the Footnotes text entry box in the Performances wizard

and Method text entry boxes. This means that you're able to
filter the dedications and methods by section. See Using Filters
in the new help file for more information.
-
The help file has been updated to include the new
filters.
-
Con2v3 v1.0.2 (31 December 2005)

performances on the same day were not being copied in the same
order as they were stored in v2. They are now!
-
Performances rung on non-contiguous bells were
not being converted correctly.
-
Con2v3 v1.0.1 (29 December 2005)
-
WinRK
v3.0.4 (28 December 2005)
-
Barry Fisher found a bug that had crept into the
Rings wizard. It is no more...
-
A debugger has been added to help us eradicate
reported bugs. This may be turned on or off using the Debugger
item in the Help menu.
When turned on a file called WinRKv3.debug will
be created in the \WinRK v3 folder and it's this file that
should be sent when reporting bugs.
Both the .log and .debug files are deleted and
recreated every time WinRK is run so please copy them
immediately after encountering a problem.
-
The help file has been update to include the
debugger.
